POLIAPIG

Implementation of AI in an experimental farm as a tool to monitor health improvement in piglets fed with polyphenol-rich wine by-products.

Aid from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism for support for Innovative Business Associations.

This project aims to implement Artificial Intelligence on an experimental farm to validate the possible generation of new products with a clear new functionality, such as the use of grape pomace - grape marc - as a functional foodstuff that can improve the yields obtained in pig production.

At the same time, it is expected to improve the efficiency and environmental sustainability of the participating companies, favouring the reuse and recovery of by-products in the case of wine production and reducing the use of antimicrobials such as antibiotics and zinc oxide in the case of pig production.

The aim of the project, therefore, is the design and development of a data capture and processing system based on artificial intelligence that allows the comparison of normal production data with those of a feed rich in polyphenols from wine by-products.
