The Enoforum Congress lands in Chile for the first time, featuring the participation of Víctor Tirado, Innovation Manager of the INNOVI Cluster. During this congress, held at the Research and Innovation Center Viña Concha y Toro, INNOVI has emphasized the need to establish European and South American synergies, thanks to the WICA initiative driven by the EPAWI project (European Partnership for Auxiliary Wine Industry Innovation), funded by the European Commission.
The Wine Innovation & Collaboration Alliance (WICA) is an initiative in which INNOVI plays a prominent role as a founding partner. Its main objective is to create an international association for the promotion of innovation in the wine industry worldwide. The presentation highlighted the initial actions taken, including a survey of over 700 technicians worldwide, the publication of a catalog of innovative solutions, and the mission to Chile by companies in the auxiliary industry.
The event, held on November 8th and 9th in Talca, is more than just a congress; it serves as a bridge between R&D+i, the auxiliary industry, and winemaking practices. Enoforum has established itself as the most important technical congress dedicated to the wine sector in Europe and is now extending its influence to South America. Tirado, with his presentation on WICA, has been able to act as an ambassador for innovation in Catalonia, where results from INNOVI partners such as INCAVI and URV have been presented on topics like the automation of sulfur measurement or the production of ancestral wines. The exchange of best practices and technological solutions represents a cultural and scientific exchange, addressing current challenges and presenting practical solutions, closely aligned with the market.
INNOVI's participation in Enoforum underscores its commitment to the evolution and sustainable development of the wine industry, not only at the regional and national levels but globally.
