Creation of the Task Force for the digitization strategy in the wine sector

Aid for Innovation Cooperation. Operation 16.01.01 of the RDP of Catalonia 2014-2020.

Digitization is transforming all sectors of the economy in Catalonia. It affects the most technology-intensive sectors, such as industry, but also many other sectors such as tourism, food and the Catalan wine sector.

A first step would be to develop a strategy that coordinates the activities of the main agents in the sector towards a common goal: to design and implement a strategy with digital DNA for the Catalan wine sector.

The main objectives are:

  • Identify the challenges and opportunities that the Catalan wine sector will face in the coming years, especially the challenge of its digital transformation.
  • Based on this identification, design a strategy with digital DNA that allows an economically profitable, sustainable, environmentally friendly, and capable of making innovative proposals.
  • Encourage cooperation between the different agents in the value chain in order to strengthen the position of the Catalan wine sector in the face of competition from other producing areas.
  • Encourage innovation throughout the value chain of the Catalan wine sector.
