On the 30th, in a ceremony held in the Sala Pau Gil and Rooms of the Sant Pau Modernist Complex, Vallformosa was recognized with the prestigious awards of the 2nd edition of Catalunya Impacta with the Optivinya project, coordinated by INNOVI. These awards, created and promoted by the Technology Circle, seek to highlight technology-based initiatives with the ability to shape a more sustainable and resilient economy and society.
The awards have been given to three projects, representing each of the three productive sectors. On this occasion, Vallformosa has been recognized for its outstanding role in the primary sector with the Optivinya project.
Vallformosa has been distinguished for Optivinya, a remote sensing system applied to the vineyards using drones and satellites. This system allows a precise control of the quantity and quality of the harvest, segmenting and selecting the ideal plots, grouping the different qualities of the grapes and anticipating pests and diseases.
Vallformosa, partner of INNOVI, has led the project and has received praise for its central role in the development of the research and technology of this initiative. The IRTA, INCAVI and Agro Mapping technology centers have collaborated on the project, contributing to the success of Optivinya.
At the same ceremony, Jumpets Group and Seniordomo have also been recognized for their innovative projects in the secondary and tertiary sectors, respectively.
The awards, designed by Elisava second-year students, symbolize innovation, transformation and connection in the three economic sectors. The jury, made up of eight prominent professionals, recognized the social, environmental and economic impact of the award-winning projects, highlighting their contribution to a more sustainable and value-added economy.
Joan Ramon Barrera, president of the Cercle Tecnològic, has emphasized the importance of sustainability as the central axis of the award-winning projects, stating that "technology not only drives efficiency and innovation, but also acts as a catalyst for projects with a real impact on people's lives."
With these awards, INNOVI and its partners continue to demonstrate their commitment to innovation and the use of technology to contribute to the sustainable development of Catalonia.
