The main objective of the project is to promote the circular bioeconomy in Catalonia using livestock manure and other organic amendments from the agri-food industry, to improve the soil and productivity of Catalan wineries.
The specific objectives of this project are:
• Define the ideal parameters in different treatments for the recovery of waste and organic by-products from the agro-livestock industry, including livestock manure, to obtain high quality organic fertilizers.
• Characterization of organic fertilizers suitable for conventional production and for organic production obtained from livestock manure and other waste and organic by-products of the agro-industry.
• Agronomic evaluation of in situ fertilization with conventional and ecological organic fertilizers in the cultivation of vines.
• Analysis of technical and economic viability of the creation of a pilot technical advisory service on organic fertilization to enhance the circular bioeconomy of Catalan wine farms.
• Study of technical, economic and environmental feasibility of organic fertilization in ecological and conventional vineyards.
