INNOVI has secured more than €1.2 million in grants for the development of 14 innovation projects, out of a total of more than €1.6 million requested, within the framework of three different public funding calls. These projects involve a total of 41 participating organisations and aim to strengthen the competitiveness, sustainability and transformation of the Catalan wine sector from different perspectives.

Projects funded by the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC)

Within this call, INNOVI has submitted projects aimed at advancing towards reuse and circularity models for glass packaging in the wine sector:

• AWO - Implementation of Wash-Off adhesives for the reuse of wine bottles

• REVICAT - Definition of the wine bottle reuse model in Catalonia

Projects under ACCIÓ’s Competitive Business Reinforcement Initiatives in nuclear transition areas (IRC)

INNOVI coordinates a set of cooperative projects that promote innovation, sustainability, digitalisation and economic diversification in nuclear transition territories:

• REGENERATIVE AGROECOLOGY: a local competitive advantage for a globalised world (AGROECO)

• CIARA - Circular and Intelligent Management of Wastewater in nuclear transition areas

• BIOVITER - Preservation of wine biodiversity. Clonal selection of Garnacha and Carignan in the Terra Alta and Priorat regions

• FERMLOW - New wines with lower alcohol content and refined ageing

• GRACTI - Garnacha Terra Alta: Science, Territory and Identity

• MERCATIA - Boosting e-commerce in the agri-food sector: innovation and digitalisation

• OLIVITUR - Integrated platform for the management and promotion of wine tourism and olive oil tourism

• ViMicroCell - From vineyard to winery: microbiology for oenological excellence

• VITIFERM - Promotion of natural plant-based ferments to improve the resilience of wine-growing agroecosystems in Priorat-Montsant

• WINESMART - Sensorisation of wine ageing and intelligent energy management in wineries

Grants for cooperative cluster projects (ACCIÓ)

Finally, INNOVI coordinates strategic cluster projects focused on advanced digitalisation and circular economy in the sector:

• GAIA-C - Advanced Artificial Intelligence Management for Wineries

• R-CIRCULA - Reversible marking for the circularity of glass packaging

Overall, these 14 projects consolidate INNOVI’s role as a driving force behind high-impact collaborative projects, contributing to technological innovation, environmental sustainability and the competitiveness of the wine sector, as well as to the economic and territorial development of the areas where they are implemented.
