On April 8^th, 2025, the WatEnerWine  project (funded under the SMP-COSME-2023-AGRICLUSTER program) successfully brought together professionals from across Europe to discuss sustainability challenges and solutions for wineries. The event attracted a large and engaged audience, confirming the strong interest in sustainable water and energy practices in winemaking.

The webinar focused on promoting innovative and efficient use of water and energy resources in wineries. Participants included representatives from wineries, technology providers, consultants, research institutions, and policy stakeholders, highlighting the value of cross-sector collaboration.

Key highlights from the webinar included:

• In-depth presentations on low-carbon       technologies, renewable energy integration, and water-saving       solutions tailored to wineries.
• Case studies showcasing best practices from regions in France, Spain, and Italy.

The success of the event reflects both the relevance of the topic and the growing momentum for sustainability initiatives within the agri-food and wine value chain. The WatEnerWine project consortium – made up of INNOVI, INNO’VIN, EURECAT,  CWP, IFV, CLUST-ER Agrifood, and VINIDEA – will continue working with SMEs to help them implement efficient and circular resource use.
