INNOVI has coordinated a set of cooperative projects within the framework of the grants for Business Competitive Reinforcement Initiatives in nuclear transition zones promoted by ACCIÓ, the agency for the competitiveness of the company of the Department of Enterprise and Work of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

This set of initiatives has aimed to strengthen the business competitiveness of nuclear transition territories through innovation, sustainability, digitization and economic diversification. The projects have had the participation of companies, wineries, technology centers, research organizations and territorial agents, with the desire to respond to strategic challenges in the wine, agri-food and tourism sectors.

The projects coordinated by INNOVI have addressed key areas such as regenerative agroecology, circular water management, the preservation of viticultural biodiversity, the development of new products with a lower alcohol content, the enhancement of native varieties, the promotion of e-commerce, the digitization of wine tourism and oil tourism, microbiology applied to oenological excellence, the use of natural fermented plants and the sensing of aging processes and energy management in the winery.

Among the initiatives developed is REGENERATIVE AGROECOLOGY: a local competitive advantage for a globalized world, known as AGROECO, focused on the incorporation of agroecological and regenerative practices as an element of territorial competitiveness. CIARA has also been promoted, aimed at the circular and intelligent management of waste water in nuclear transition zones, as well as BIOVITER, dedicated to the preservation of viticultural biodiversity through the clonal selection of Grenache and Carignan in the regions of Terra Alta and Priorat.

In the field of oenological innovation, FERMLOW has worked on the development of new wines with a lower alcohol content and refined aging, while GRACTI has focused on Grenache from Terra Alta as the axis of science, territory and identity. For its part, ViMicroCell has deepened the role of microbiology from the vineyard to the cellar as a tool to achieve oenological excellence.

Digitization and the diversification of channels have also been protagonists through MERCATIA, a project aimed at promoting e-commerce in the agri-food sector, and OLIVITUR, which has developed an integrated platform for the management, reservation and promotion of wine tourism and oil tourism. In addition, VITIFERM has explored the use of natural plant ferments to improve the resilience of Priorat-Montsant's viticultural agro-ecosystems, while WINESMART has applied aging sensorization and intelligent energy management in the winery.

With the completion of these projects, INNOVI consolidates its role as a dynamizing agent of collaborative innovation in the wine and agri-food sector, especially in territories facing the challenge of the nuclear transition. The initiatives developed have made it possible to generate knowledge, create synergies between companies and local agents, promote applied solutions and contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and competitive economic model.

These projects demonstrate the capacity of the territory's business and research fabric to transform current challenges into new development opportunities. The cooperation between companies, knowledge centers and sectoral entities has been a key element in moving towards a more innovative future, rooted in the territory and aligned with the environmental, social and economic needs of the nuclear transition zones.

INNOVI will continue to work to give continuity to the results obtained, facilitate their transfer to the whole sector and promote new initiatives that contribute to strengthening the competitiveness, sustainability and projection of the wine-growing and agri-food territories of Catalonia.
